I opened my package to find 7 friendly little snakes waiting for me!

Then they all came out to meet me.

But then as I unpacked more stuffing, there was an 8th straggler, he says hello to everyone.

The snakes helped me unpack all of the packages so carefully wrapped by Ms. Agatha Vablatsky.

the snakes then introduced me to all of their friends who had been sleeping in the package. There were 2 stuffed snakes, one gummy snake and a little green snake (not pictured) that was already playing with the kitty cats. He wiggles so the cats will chase him! Oh, and the wooden slithering snake.

Then I got to unwrap the soft yummy sock yarn! It is knitpicks essentials in "Ivy". It is a gorgeous green with slight variations, because it is kettle dyed. :)

Here is the bias knit Slytherin scarf. Also, the little cat toy snakey sneaked into this picture!

I then unwrapped this amazing Golden Snitch tape measure. Unfortunately for me it was the only snitch I 'caught' this semester!

I got a set of my favorite knitting needles: Knitpicks harmony DPN!!
There is also a notebook full of snake sock patterns for my knitting enjoyment.

And last but not least, the AMAZING bag! I can't say enough about this bag. It is the design Minee came up with, I beleive it is called Nagini's Dream? It is so wonderful! I have two pictures of it here, I hope they can do it a fraction of the justice it deserves!

Agatha, I can't thank you enough for what you did for me. It was an absolutely amazing package! I do have to show one more picture (I know there are a lot of them) but Princess Fiona enjoyed the 8 mini snakes that accompanied my package. Thank you so much!

Independence Day

Happy holiday girls!
I had such a busy day yesterday! I had 30 people at my house to celebrate the birthday of our nation. It was so much fun. There were tons of people on my street, so much so that only one car could drive through at a time. After everyone arrived, and I FINALLY convinced Mr. Moody to start the barbeque, we sat around and chatted, and ate our home made ice cream. We all finished our desserts (plural, meaning, about 8 different desserts) we all turned our chairs around to look toward the back yard and watched the amazing firework show. You could see the firemen back behind our house in the field lighting the fireworks, and running really quickly away. It was very funny. The kiddos that were here did their own fireworks, and that included Mr. Moody. He blew up an apple with a blackkat firework. Nerdy, huh? And he's almost 30....

I hope you all had a nice holiday, and celebrated too much like I did! :)

So I am late posting this week, but it has been a strange week. There is a new boy in school, who isn't much of a boy. He is making all the girls swoon. I swear he is part Veela. At any rate, he has some siblings too, but this boy is just absolutely unique. I think Ms. Lily of Flitwick has her eye on him, but I am going to have to try to beat her to the punch (I hear she secretly has a boyfriend already). I am excited to see him in class. I have Ancient Ruins, Arithmancy and DIvination with him. I hear he is a wiz at Arithmancy, I may just have to need a "tutor" at some point in the near future. Oh! I snuck my muggle camera into Arithmancy yesterday, wanna see a pic of him??

I know here at hogwarts we are nestled away in the hills, but it seems that we are still boiling hot in the sun! Just wondering what you are doing to keep cool. I took a dip in the black lake last night only to find that the Grindylows were not sticking to the deeper water. They grabbed ahold of my legs and shocked me with their little stingers. Fortunately my good friend, Cassandra Puddlemere, was there to help. I don't know what I would have done had they gotten me dragged into the water. I am a fair swimmer but that lake is COLD!

Darned Grindylows. So, I am busting out my copy of Magical creatures and Where to find them, so I can do my homework. It really stinks that a prefect is assigned homework by her head girl, don't you think?

Professor Snape, Cassandra and I sat down and had a chat. He advised us to get everyone to pick their own dormmates this term so we might all get along well. We then asked the girls to pick a nickname for themselves. It is going to be fun trying to name ourselves. It has to be saucy, it has to be juicy and most of all, it has to fit us!

On a side note, have you seen the new DADA teacher? I think he is the only one even contending with Snapey for hotness!

I am so excited about this term. I thought it was awesome that the sorting hat re-sorted me into Slytherin, but then something amazing happened!

I was wandering the halls of Hogwarts with my nose stuck in a copy of Hogwarts, A History. I wasn't really paying attention to where I was walking when all of a sudden I ran into what I thought was a wall.

It turned out to be Professor Snape! He is already here at Hogwarts and was a little surprised to see me too. He told me to walk with him (I thought I was in trouble) to the Great Hall. As we walked I told him I was re-sorted and he seemed intrigued. He said this doesn't happen often, but more and more this year the sorting hat had a change of mind.

He treated me to some pumpkin juice and pumpkin pasties, prepared by none other than Dobby the house elf. Professor Snape said he had lost his prefect from last year (I hope it wansn't anything serious) and was in need of another. I perked up and volunteered for the position and he said he'd have to run it by Headmistress Wartbobble. Just a few minutes later I had an owl sweeping into my dormitory dropping a letter into my lap.

I can't believe it! It is going to be a lot of hard work, but it will be worth it. I also have a head girl, Cassandra Puddlemere. I already have my 3 roommates (they are here early too).

Come on april 30th!!!!!!

A new term begins

In about 2 weeks our new term will begin. I came to school early (Mum and Dad had a bit of business to attend to and I thought it would be great fun to wander about the castle without too much supervision) and am loving every second of it. I was so excited to find out I was going to be in Slytherin house. Professor Snape is so awesome. A few of the girls, including my friends Cassandra and Frysia have a crush on him, but we have to keep that a secret.

I am switching houses (due to an unexpected run-in with the sorting hat where he decided I was a little more suited for Slytherin house this term) and don't quite like the common room just yet. It is a bit dark and mildewy so we may have to use some scourging charms to freshen the place up a bit.

I can't wait to find out who my swap partner is this term and to get a glimpse of McPotions. I hear he is returning and has his eye on those of us who spied on him last time ;0)
